Properties:
It is a white crystalline powder at room temperature, with a melting point of 215-217°C, a relative density of 1.3-1.4, and a decomposition temperature of 223-228°C. It is slightly soluble in water, with a solubility of less than 5% at room temperature, and is easily soluble in ammonia water. It has good chemical and thermal stability. The industrial product is light yellow.
Application:
Used as a scale inhibitor for steam boilers, a scale inhibitor for circulating cooling water, a stabilizer for peroxides, a metal ion chelating agent for electroplating industry, etc. EDTMP is a methylenephosphonic acid cathode corrosion inhibitor, which has a more prominent cathode protection effect than inorganic polyphosphates, and the corrosion inhibition rate is about 7 times higher. It has a good scale inhibition effect at 200°C. EDTMP and polymaleic anhydride can effectively reduce the scaling rate. The concentration of EDTMP used as a scale inhibitor alone is 10 mg/L, the concentration of EDTMP used as a corrosion inhibitor alone is greater than 100 mg/L, and the concentration of EDTMP and low relative molecular mass scale inhibitors is less than 5 mg/L. EDTMP and sodium gluconate can be used to clean and treat metal surfaces and remove grease from metal surfaces.
