Properties:

Clear, colorless to slightly yellow aqueous solution with excellent chelating properties. Highly stable and effective across a wide pH range.

Application:

  1. Industrial Water Treatment:
    • Scale & Corrosion Inhibitor: Pentasodium DTPA effectively binds metal ions (Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Fe³⁺) in water systems, preventing scale formation and corrosion in boilers, cooling towers, and pipelines.
    • Decontamination: Used in nuclear and chemical industries to remove radioactive and heavy metal contaminants.
  2. Cleaning & Detergent Formulations:
    • Stabilizer & Builder: Enhances the performance of detergents and cleaners by sequestering hardness ions, improving surfactant efficiency, and preventing redeposition of dirt.
    • Peroxide Stabilizer: Maintains the activity of hydrogen peroxide in bleach formulations.
  3. Pulp & Paper Industry:
