Solubility

• SPO-10, SPO-20, SPO-30: Insoluble in water. Soluble in ethanol and acetone to form a transparent solution. Can dissolve in a water-alcohol system, white mineral oil, and molten white petroleum jelly to form a transparent solution.

Note: pH measurement method: In a 150ml beaker, add 50ml of isopropanol and 30ml of distilled water, adjust the pH of this solution to 6.8-7. Weigh 10g (accurate to 0.01g) of the sample, add 70ml of the above water solution, stir well, and measure the pH with a pH meter.

Properties and Applications

• Stability and Compatibility: This product is stable and does not react with most cosmetic raw materials. It remains stable in acidic and alkaline mediums and can be formulated with both anionic and cationic surfactants. As a softening agent, it offers lubrication, wetting, plasticizing, solubilizing, and dispersing properties.
• Hair Care Products: Can partially or completely replace white mineral oil, imparting shine to hair and providing a styling effect. It can also serve as a plasticizer and thickener for hair gel resins.
• Skin Care Products: Used as a lubricant in non-greasy sunscreen oils, providing a pleasant dry feel to the skin. In skin lubricating oils, its dissolving and wetting properties can remove oil residues.
• Bath Products: Can produce low-temperature transparent bath oils and hand sanitizers.
• Aerosol Products: Acts as an anti-adhesive and valve lubricant.
• Cosmetics: Used as a carrier for pigments, forming a non-greasy, non-sticky film. It can act as a pigment dispersant and coupling agent, enabling the coupling of large amounts of aromatic oils to dissolve in mineral oil.
• Chemical Industry: Serves as an intermediate for synthesizing surfactants with special properties. For example, the product derived from further reacting SPO-20 with ethylene oxide forms a colloidal solution near its cloud point in a 1% aqueous solution, which reverts to a liquid state upon cooling.

Packaging and Storage

• Packaging: Available in 200Kg iron drums and 50Kg plastic drums.
• Storage and Transportation: Store and transport as general chemicals. Keep in a dry and ventilated place. Shelf life is two years.
