Properties:
Ascorbic Acid, commonly known as Vitamin C, is a white or off-white crystalline powder. It is freely soluble in water and sparingly soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. It is an acidic compound with a sharp, tart taste. It is most stable in a dry, solid form but oxidizes rapidly in solution or when exposed to light, heat, and certain metal ions.
Application:
Ascorbic Acid is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry as a nutrient supplement to prevent and treat vitamin C deficiency (e.g., scurvy). In the food and beverage industry, it is used as an antioxidant to prevent spoilage and enhance shelf life, as well as a nutrient enhancer. It is also commonly used in the cosmetic and personal care industry for its antioxidant properties in skin care formulations.
Package and Storage:
Packed in 25kg cardboard drums or fiber drums with double polyethylene liners. Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place away from direct light and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed to prevent oxidation.
