Properties:
It is colorless water-absorbing oily liquid and it smells ammonia. It is soluble in water and methanol, ethanol, benzene, acetone, ether, ethylene glycol and other commonly used solvents.
Application:
Widely used as a chemical intermediate. Applications include the production of rubber chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and corrosion inhibitors. It is essential in rubber vulcanization, enhancing elasticity and strength, and in pharmaceuticals as a key intermediate for drug synthesis. Morpholine also acts as an effective corrosion inhibitor in water treatment.
